Partnership Details

On February 16, 2022, Filecoin announced the partnership with Polygon Studios for the development in crypto gaming, NFTs, and metaverses. To kickstart the collaboration, two ecosystems have developed tutorials, integration grants, and hackathons aimed at helping developers and NFT projects in the Polygon network to integrate with InterPlanetary File System(IPFS) and Filecoin.

In August 2021, Filecoin announced that Polygon offered free storage costs for projects building on the Filecoin-Polygon bridge, leading to the successful result of Mars Hackathon with 1,500 developers participated building applications on the bridge.

A tutorial on NFT minting and storage was recently published for Polygon developers to learn how to use IPFS and Filecoin in their projects. Also, grants up to $5,000 for eligible Polygon projects integrating IPFS and Filecoin are available. Polygon and Filecoin will host some NFT Hackathons together, and some of upcoming hackathons include ETHDenver, ETHernals by Devfolio, and Kenlabs Metaverse Hacakthon.
