Stargate has always been the flagship application built on LayerZero, responsible for over 55 million messages and more than $70 billion in transfer volume since launch.

Stargate is now in a position to operate in direct lockstep with LayerZero, this means more resources, faster execution, and a broader mandate: reinventing how value transfers. Where LayerZero solves for interop, Stargate solves for the distribution of interop solutions. It is the single interface for tokens, apps, and products that span many chains.

The acquisition does mean there are some parts of Stargate that will cease to function:

• The STG token can be converted to ZRO
• The StargateDAO is dissolved
• There is no longer STG staking
