Unlike the 2008 financial crisis—where collateral debt obligations (CDOs) were rated highly by crediting rating agencies relying mostly on guarantees rather than the quality of the underlying collateral—the ways that the Ratio Finance protocol mitigates risk are protocol-owned and governed.
