RSS3(RSS3) Mainnet Beta

The Mainnet Alpha

The Mainnet Alpha is the first stage of the RSS3 Mainnet. It is set to go online within the first two months of 2024. It brings alpha nodes to the table, where any node operator can just set up such a node and allow users to participate with the alpha tokenomics - a mechanism that will continue to evolve with the development of the network. Also, the Value Sublayer (VSL) will be ready in the form of an Ethereum L2 - it will start to handle the aforementioned mechanism and allow external dApps to leverage vast Open Information to build upon.

Major Advancements

• Alpha Nodes. In the Alpha phase, Alpha Nodes will be introduced. These nodes are not technically the serving nodes backing the network - they are warm-up runners that will be rewarded as part of the tokenomics. These nodes will evolve with the development of the Mainnet and eventually transition into fully qualified RSS3 Serving Nodes.
• Alpha Tokenomics. As described in the proposal, the Mainnet tokenomics will incentivize all contributors to the Network. The alpha tokenomics is introduced to encourage the entire RSS3 community to start participating in some of the more important mechanisms of the Network so we can evolve together.
• VSL Mainnet as Ethereum L2. Another significant milestone in this Alpha phase is the launch of the RSS3 VSL (Value Sublayer) as an Ethereum Layer 2. This makes it possible for the RSS3 Network to handle smart contracts and the trustless logic behind them. Alpha nodes and alpha tokenomics are the first ones to come, with much more en route.
