Bitget Introduces Reality Platform to Bring Tokenized Stocks Into Crypto Markets

      Débutant 3m

      Key takeaways

      • Bitget unveiled Reality, a new platform focused on bringing tokenized US stocks and ETFs into blockchain-based trading environments.
      • The platform’s rTokens are backed 1:1 by publicly traded shares held through a regulated US broker-dealer structure.
      • Reality forms part of Bitget’s wider strategy to combine crypto products, traditional assets, and on-chain financial tools in one ecosystem.

Reality expands Bitget’s push into tokenized finance

Crypto exchange Bitget has launched Reality, a platform dedicated to tokenized real-world assets that will initially focus on US stocks and exchange-traded funds. The rollout is part of Bitget’s broader Universal Exchange roadmap, which aims to integrate traditional finance products with crypto trading infrastructure.

The platform introduces rTokens, blockchain-based representations of equities and ETFs that Bitget says are fully backed by underlying shares held with a FINRA-registered and SIPC-protected US broker-dealer. The company added that third-party auditors will provide proof-of-assets reporting and audit documentation designed to verify reserves and asset backing.

Tokenized equities have become an increasingly discussed segment of the digital asset industry, particularly as exchanges and blockchain firms look for ways to connect traditional financial markets with decentralized systems. Supporters of tokenization argue that blockchain-based representations of traditional assets can improve settlement speed, accessibility, and interoperability with digital finance tools.

Reality is designed to integrate directly with Bitget’s existing ecosystem. According to the company, users will eventually be able to use tokenized assets within unified trading accounts, deploy them across staking and lending products, and access trading strategies tied to automated tools such as Grid Trading and Copy Trading.

"Reality is built around Bitget’s 10% vision: by 2030, nearly 10% of financial assets could exist in tokenized form. Stablecoins, faster blockchain settlement, and growing interest from major exchanges are pushing RWAs from experiment to market infrastructure. Reality is Bitget’s step toward making that future accessible to global users."
      —Gracy Chen, CEO at Bitget

The company noted that tokenized stocks currently represent only a small share of the global equities market, despite increased interest from both crypto-native firms and traditional financial institutions.

Tokenized assets continue gaining traction across global markets

The launch arrives during a period of growing activity in the real-world asset sector, where firms are experimenting with blockchain-based versions of equities, bonds, commodities, and other financial instruments.

Bitget said Reality will initially support selected US equities and ETFs, with plans to broaden the range of supported assets after launch. Availability of the products will depend on regional regulations and eligibility requirements.

The exchange has already expanded its tokenized product offerings beyond cryptocurrencies in recent years, adding access to markets tied to foreign exchange products, commodities, and precious metals. Reality now becomes the company’s dedicated infrastructure layer for tokenized traditional finance products.

By integrating these products into its existing crypto ecosystem, Bitget appears to be positioning tokenized assets as part of a broader financial access model rather than a standalone feature. The company said the platform is intended to provide institutional-grade liquidity access while maintaining blockchain-based settlement capabilities.

The launch also reflects wider industry efforts to create systems where digital assets and traditional market products can coexist within the same trading environment. Many companies in the sector see tokenization as a way to simplify access to global financial markets while reducing reliance on legacy settlement systems.

      The bottom line

Reality marks another step in Bitget’s expansion beyond crypto-native products and into tokenized traditional finance. As exchanges continue building infrastructure around blockchain-based equities and other RWAs, competition in the tokenization sector is expected to intensify over the coming years.
