How Telegram Bots Are Shaping the Next Frontier of On‑Chain UX

      초급 Jul 22, 2025 3분

Over the past year or so, encryption-first messaging app Telegram has quietly transformed into a major decentralized trading floor, offering users a new wave of trading bots that promise speed, simplicity, and a social trading experience that feels as intuitive as texting a friend.

The result has been staggering, as evidenced by recent adoption figures that show by mid-2025, DEX bots had averaged about $61.7 million in daily trading volume (while serving over 52,000 active users daily). Early success stories have included offerings like Unibot, which became a breakout star on Ethereum, with its token soaring from just $3 in May 2023 to over $200 by August (nearly a 100× jump).

Similarly, Banana Gun, another popular bot, amassed over 30,000 users and saw daily trading volumes peak at $11 billion, driven by a memecoin sniping craze while Maestro (one of the earliest multi-chain bots) facilitated a cumulative $12.8 billion in trading volume for over 573,000 users since its debut.

      A unique selling proposition

Beyond just raw numbers, the social aspect of these Telegram bots seems to be a key to their appeal, signalling a broader shift toward "social-first DeFi." To this point, last year’s rise of Friend.tech showed how eager users are to combine social networks with crypto markets as within days of its launch, the project drew over 100,000 users and more than $25 million in fees.

Similarly, on the decentralized social platform Farcaster, the introduction of "Frames" (interactive in-feed mini-apps) ignited a frenzy of on-chain engagement, pushing the app’s daily active users to new highs.

Critically, the race is now on to capture Telegram's massive user base (900 million) for crypto-centric use cases as developers see it as fertile ground to onboard the next wave of participants. The allure is simple, for example meet users where they already congregate (Telegram chats) and give them one-tap access to trading, effectively turning every chat group into a potential trading lobby.

      Exploring Avalanche’s native trading bot

Earlier this month, crypto trading infrastructure provider EnclaveX officially launched EdgeBot, the first Telegram-based trading bot purpose-built for Avalanche, an ecosystem experiencing its own social-driven trading surge thanks to the recent memecoin renaissance.

EdgeBot is essentially Avalanche’s homegrown answer to the Unibots and Maestro bots that have proliferated on other networks, allowing users to trade a wide array of assets (ranging from AVAX and major tokens to the latest meme coins) directly within a Telegram chat interface.

What sets EdgeBot apart is its tight integration with the Avalanche’s ecosystem and a focus on eliminating the usual friction points such that traders no longer need to juggle a web of dApps, browser extensions, and wallet pop-ups to chase the next opportunity.

Under the hood, the project connects to Avalanche’s top decentralized exchanges (and to EnclaveX’s own trading platform for perpetuals) while being equipped with real-time portfolio tracking and token discovery tools, thereby allowing traders to monitor their holdings and scout trending tokens seamlessly inside Telegram.

Notably, EdgeBot comes with a built-in referral system aimed at supercharging community growth. Users who refer others earn a 20% commission on their referees’ trades, and the referred users get a 20% discount on trading fees.

      Interesting times ahead

Avalanche’s memecoin summer (which saw native tokens like "Lambo" and "Wolfi" skyrocketing in value overnight) has shown that users of the platform crave the same rapid, chat-native trading capabilities that Ethereum and Solana communities have enjoyed.

In this regard, EdgeBot delivers exactly that, with trades being executed in as few as three taps on one’s phone. The bot even lets users embed live trade updates and share PnL (profit-and-loss) screenshots in Telegram groups, turning trading into a more social, game-like activity.

Being a first of its kind, EdgeBot is more than a novelty offering, potentially boosting Avalanche’s appeal to the growing cohort of mobile-first, socially-connected crypto traders in a big way.
