On February 17th, 2022, The Sandbox announced that it has formed a strategic partnership with the Brazilian game studio Hermit Crab.

The studio plans to develop a virtual city called "Sports Land" in the Sandbox Metaverse, inspired by Brazilian culture that will introduce various sports experiences.
