On February 17th, 2022, The Sandbox announced that it has formed a strategic partnership with the Brazilian game studio Hermit Crab.
The studio plans to develop a virtual city called "Sports Land" in the Sandbox Metaverse, inspired by Brazilian culture that will introduce various sports experiences. In "Sports Land", players will be able to compete in their favorite sports, complete objectives and challenges around the city, attend virtual events, and collect sports-themed NFTs, as football clubs, sport stars, and sport leagues.
