Introducing Seed Tags & Monitoring Tags for Tokens with High Volatility and Risks

Fellow Binancians,

Based on feedback from the community that it is hard for users to differentiate tokens listed in the Innovation Zone and Main Trading Zone, Binance will be introducing the Seed Tag and Monitoring Tag on 2023-07-26. 

To gain trading access to the tokens marked with Seed Tag or Monitoring Tag, users will need to pass the corresponding quizzes every 90 days on the Binance Spot and/or Binance Margin platforms, and accept the Terms of Use. The quizzes are set up to ensure users are aware of the risks before trading the tokens with the Seed Tags and Monitoring Tags. Users may find the Seed Tags and Monitoring Tags on the corresponding Binance Spot and Binance Margin trading pages, as well as on the Markets Overview page. A risk warning banner will also be displayed for all tokens with the Seed Tags and Monitoring Tags. 

The Seed Tag will replace the Innovation Zone, and be applied to all tokens currently listed in the Innovation Zone as well as future listings that represent innovative projects that may exhibit higher volatility and risks compared to other listed tokens. 

In addition, Binance will introduce the Monitoring Tag,which will be applied to the following tokens that exhibit notably higher volatility and risks compared to other listed tokens:

• Cream Finance (CREAM)

• DREP (DREP)

• aelf (ELF)

• FTX Token (FTT)

• Multichain (MULTI)

• openANX (OAX)

• OmiseGO (OMG)

• Tornado Cash (TORN)

Binance will conduct periodic project reviews and decide if the relevant Tags should be added to or removed from the tokens as per its latest findings. These criteria are considered during the review: 

• Commitment of team to project

• Level and quality of development activity

• Trading volume and liquidity

• Stability and safety of network from attacks

• Network/smart contract stability

• Level of public communication

• Responsiveness to our periodic due diligence requests

• Evidence of unethical/fraudulent conduct or negligence

• Contribution to a healthy and sustainable crypto ecosystem 

Binance has been striving to build the crypto ecosystem in a way that promotes transparency and long-term, sustainable growth.

Notes:

• Other services related to the aforementioned tokens will not be impacted.

• Where any discrepancy arises between the translated versions and the original English version, the English version shall prevail.
