Bybit to support USDT0 deposits and withdrawals on Mantle

Bybit will soon support USDT0 deposits and withdrawals on the Mantle network. This update lets you move USDT0 across supported ecosystems with a simpler and more secure experience.

What is USDT0

USDT0 is a USDT-based stablecoin that uses LayerZero’s Omnichain Fungible Token standard. It improves how USDT moves across chains and replaces the previous USDT asset bridged through Mantle’s canonical bridge. That legacy asset is now labeled as USDT (Bridged).

USDT0 is expected to become the main USDT version within the Mantle ecosystem to support liquidity and DeFi growth. As a result, support for USDT (Bridged) will begin to wind down.

• Estimated bridging time: Starts at 1 hour at launch and will reduce to about 3 minutes

• Administrative features: Supports freezing, blacklisting and ownership transfer

• Forward compatibility: Upgradable

USDT (Bridged)

• Technology: Layer 2 canonical bridge based on the OP Stack

• Cross-chain interoperability: Limited to Ethereum and Mantle with multiple steps for other chains

• Estimated bridging time:

• Ethereum to Mantle: Approx. 3 minutes

• Mantle to Ethereum: Approx. 12 hours

• Administrative features: Limited

• Forward compatibility: Not upgradable
