Gate.io Will Suspend Cross Collateral for Perpetual Futures...
Gate.io haș rolled out a brand new Unified Account, an account that covers spot, futures, options and more trading functionalities, in an effort to provide users with enhanced trading experiences and more simple operation. With the launch of the Unified Account, the Cross Collateral for perpetual futures will be obsoleted. Starting December 20,2023, at 08:00 UTC, there will be no more new loans allowed on Cross Collateral for perpetual futures.
The positions maintained by Cross Collateral opened before December 20, 08:00 UTC will not be affected, but you have to add margin directly instead if you need more margin later. Cross Collateral loan repayment will function still after December 20.
If you are an affected user, you may adjust your trading strategy beforehand. Or you can upgrade to explore the Unified Account functionalities. Please note, users who have an existing Cross Collateral position should exit and repay the loan before upgrading.

Unified Account allows for spot trading, margin trading, futures trading, options trading and more within this one account. Margin collateralized by multiple currencies can be shared among different trading instruments automatically, avoiding frequent asset transfer in and out while bringing enhanced capital efficiency.
