Poloniex AI Skills Is Now Live, Enabling a New AI-Agent Trading Experience

Poloniex has officially launched Poloniex AI Skills, an open capability protocol designed for the AI Agent ecosystem that enables AI systems to directly understand and execute cryptocurrency trading operations.

Poloniex AI Skills serves as a bridge connecting AI with Poloniex’s trading capabilities. With simple natural language commands, users can execute both spot trading and futures trading, allowing AI to function as a true trading assistant.

I. Initial Release: Two Core Skills

The first version of Poloniex AI Skills includes two core Skills, covering the complete workflow from trading instructions to execution.

• Spot Trading: Supports executing spot trading operations, including market orders, limit orders, placing and canceling orders, and checking order status.
• Futures Trading: Supports executing futures trading operations, including opening long and short positions, closing positions, adjusting leverage, and setting take-profit and stop-loss.

II. Key Highlights of Poloniex AI Skills

• Natural Language Trading — No Learning Curve: Users do not need to learn complex APIs or write code. Simply describe trading intentions in natural language and the AI will understand and execute the trade.
• Dual Support for Spot and Futures Trading: The initial release supports both spot and futures trading, covering two of the most essential trading scenarios and meeting diverse trading needs.
• Compatible with Multiple Tools — Plug and Play: Poloniex AI Skills works with mainstream AI Agent development tools such as OpenClaw, Claude Code, and Cursor. Users can begin trading in as little as three minutes.
• Open Protocol with Continuous Expansion: Poloniex AI Skills adopts a standardized Skill protocol architecture that allows continuous expansion with additional capability modules in the future, improving the AI integration experience.

III. User Guide

Getting started with Poloniex AI Skills only takes three steps.

1. Open an AI Development Tool

• Supported tools include:
• OpenClaw,
• Claude Code or Claude CLI
• Codex or Codex CLI
• Cursor
• And many other compatible tools

2. Connect to Skills with One Command

Run the following command in your terminal:

• Spot Trading:  npx skills add https://github.com/poloniex/polo-skills-hub/tree/master/skills/spot
• Futures Trading: npx skills add https://github.com/poloniex/polo-skills-hub/tree/master/skills/futures

3. Call Skills Using Natural Language

• Examples for Spot Trading: "Buy BTC with 1,000 USDT", "Place a limit order to buy SOL at $150" and "Sell all my ETH".
• Examples for Futures Trading: "Open a long BTC position with 10× leverage", "Short ETH with a position size of 500 USDT" and "Close my SOL short position".

To use trading functions, users must configure their Poloniex API Key.

IV. Future Roadmap

• MCP Server: Poloniex will launch an official MCP Server enabling native integration with mainstream AI clients such as Claude, Cursor, and OpenClaw. Compared with the documentation-based Skills mode, MCP Server will significantly improve call stability and execution success rates, giving AI Agents production-grade trading capabilities.
• CLI Command-Line Tool: A CLI command-line tool will be introduced for developers and quantitative traders. It will support script-based execution, automated workflows, scheduled tasks, and standardized JSON outputs, enabling seamless integration with strategy systems and data pipelines.
• More Skill Modules: Poloniex AI Skills will continue expanding with additional capability modules including account management, trade history, market indicators, copy trading, Earn products, and event information.
• Bonus: The Poloniex App AI Assistant will be launched soon. Users will be able to check market data through natural language, interpret market trends, and access trading and investment product information.
