Bitget Rolls Out Quanto Futures Linking Crypto and Global Equity Markets
Bitget Rolls Out Quanto Futures Linking Crypto and Global Equity Markets Key takeaways
- Bitget has introduced quanto perpetual futures that allow users to trade non-USD stocks while settling positions entirely in USDT.
- The first contract follows Hong Kong-listed AI company MiniMax and supports up to 20x leverage with continuous trading.
- The launch expands Bitget's growing portfolio of traditional finance products built on crypto infrastructure.
New derivatives product targets international equity traders
Bitget has unveiled TradFi Quanto Perpetual Futures, a derivatives product designed to simplify access to overseas stock markets for crypto traders. The exchange says the new contracts allow users to gain exposure to equities priced in foreign currencies without first exchanging their stablecoins into local fiat.

The first product available under the new offering is MINIMAXHKDUSDT, which tracks shares of Hong Kong-listed artificial intelligence company MiniMax. While the underlying stock remains denominated in Hong Kong dollars, every aspect of the contract—including margin requirements, funding payments, and realized profits or losses—is handled exclusively in USDT.
Rather than introducing an additional foreign exchange layer, the contract mirrors the movement of the underlying stock by treating its local-currency price as numerically equivalent to USDT. As a result, traders can speculate on price movements without managing exchange-rate fluctuations.
Bitget CEO Gracy Chen said the company is applying a derivatives structure already familiar to crypto markets to a new asset class.
"Quanto contracts are not new in crypto derivatives, but no major exchange has applied the structure to traditional financial assets until now."
According to the exchange, the model removes one of the practical hurdles faced by traders seeking exposure to overseas equities. A position opened on 10 MINIMAXHKDUSDT contracts at a price of 30 and closed at 50, for example, would generate a realized profit of 200 USDT without any intermediate currency conversion.
TradFi perpetuals continue gaining momentum
Bitget's latest product arrives as interest in crypto-based exposure to traditional financial assets continues to grow. TokenInsight's Crypto Exchange Report for the second quarter of 2026 found that TradFi perpetual contracts were the fastest-growing segment across crypto exchanges during the period, with monthly trading volume increasing from approximately $52 billion in January to $268 billion in June.
The report also showed that equity perpetuals overtook commodities as the primary driver of growth. Bitget recorded around $69 billion in TradFi perpetual trading volume during the quarter, giving it an 11.01% share of the market and making it the second-largest platform in the segment.
The MINIMAXHKDUSDT contract is now available with up to 20x leverage, 24/7 trading, and funding settlements every eight hours.
