What Is Kroma(KRO)?
Kroma aims to develop a universal ZK Rollup based on the OP Stack. Currently, Kroma operates as an Optimistic Rollup with ZK fault proofs, utilizing a zkEVM. The goal of Kroma is to eventually transition to a ZK Rollup once the generation of ZK proofs becomes more cost-efficient and faster.
How Does Kroma Work?
Kroma Guardian House (KGH) is a platform designed to empower both KRO token and KGH NFT holders to actively contribute to the security of the Kroma network. Kroma, an Ethereum Layer 2 optimistic rollup with active fault proofs using zkEVM, relies on a network of validators to maintain its security and data integrity. Traditionally, participating in this validator network required advanced technical skills, creating a barrier for many potential contributors. With the launch of KGH, this barrier is removed, allowing anyone to participate in network security through simple staking mechanisms.
Holders of KRO tokens or KGH NFTs can stake their assets to Kroma validators, strengthening the network and earning rewards in return. This staking mechanism forms the backbone of KGH, making it easy for a wider range of community members to support Kroma's security infrastructure.
By staking KRO tokens to a validator, users can increase the probability of the validator being selected as a priority output submitter, which leads to higher rewards. By staking KGH NFTs to a validator, users boost the validator reward amount, leading to higher validator rewards. In return for their participation, both KRO token delegators and KGH NFT stakers receive a portion of these rewards, promoting active engagement and a thriving validator ecosystem.
