What Is Tortuga Staked Aptos(TAPT)?
Tortuga Finance is one of the only places where you can stake APT. Tortuga also issues tAPT (Tortuga Staked APT) which allows you to stay staked while participating in the Aptos DeFi ecosystem.
How Does Tortuga Staked Aptos Work?
Tortuga Finance receives delegations and routes them to validators who are signed up to the protocol. Currently, validator registration is a permissioned process but will transition to a permissionless process over time. When a validator registers, they specify the commission rate they will keep on staking rewards generated on user delegations via the protocol.
How to use Tortuga Finance?
- Get tAPT - Buy tAPT from an exchange or stake APT at the Tortuga Finance app.
- Use or hold tAPT - Lend it on a money market protocol or deposit it as collateral for a stablecoin. Alternatively, simply holding tAPT will do!
- Trade tAPT for APT - Continue holding for more rewards; but if you really want out, trade tAPT back for APT on an exchange.
What Are the Fees of Tortuga Finance?
At launch, Tortuga Finance charges:
Zero fees on staking rewards. At a future time, governance will be able to set a protocol commission. This commission would flow to the protocol treasury.
0.3% burn of tAPT on unstake.
- By burning tAPT for unstakers, remaining tAPT holders claim additional APT rewards when they unstake at a later date.
- Note that this is not a "fee" that the protocol treasury accrues.
- Governance will be able to change this "community rebate".
