The team is migrating testnet infrastructure to minimize the risk of network failures due to the merge.
On August 2nd:
- Testnet on Ropsten will move to Goërli
- Testnet on Rinkeby will move to Sepolia
Why the change, why now? Ropsten and Rinkeby are officially depreciated and may experience incur possible network forks and stoppages, so we’re migrating to ensure a stable development environment for developers with testing environments on zkSync v1.
As a developer, what do I need to do? On August 2nd, the team will migrate the network and be down for a short period of time (likely a few hours). You will then need to redeploy your testing environment on Goerli or Sepolia.
